By now, you may have seen pictures of the devastation in Myanmar and Thailand.
Our global partners in the area reported that their ministry building has partially collapsed. We praise the Lord that they are safe, but their homes have been damaged as well. Thousands of their neighbors are now sleeping in the streets, injured, and fearful of aftershocks. We are coordinating with our partners on the ground, Eric and Shannon Wiederholt, our SE Asia CHE Representatives, who are already working with the most vulnerable communities there, to get relief to those we can help.
We are looking for people to help provide food & clothing donations for shelters, filling sandbags, debris clean up, staffing at a shelter, etc. Click the button below to join the team!
You can also help by donating to our Disaster Relief Fund:
At Twin Lakes Church we recognize that God calls us in Scripture to help those suffering from poverty and oppression.
“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.” (Proverbs 19:17)
“If you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.” (Isaiah 58:10b)
Because emergencies by nature are unexpected and urgent, we have set aside a disaster relief fund so we can be prepared at all times to offer assistance when and where it is needed.
Our benevolence oversight team determines the amount and recipients of donations from this fund. Here are some of the ways TLC has helped others through this fund:
Ukrainian refugee assistance through World Venture in Poland
Afghan refugee assistance through World Venture
California fire evacuation assistance through on-site churches
Louisiana hurricane assistance through on-site churches
